About the event

Red eyes. Dark wings. A glass of mead in hand.

Join us at Dutch Creek Winery & Taphouse during Ohio Brew Week for Mothman and Mead, a special presentation by Appalachian folklore scholar and writer Ed Karshner.

From Point Pleasant’s winged legend to the stranger currents of Appalachian storytelling, Ed will trace how Mothman became more than a monster, becoming a symbol, a warning, a mystery, and one of the region’s most enduring cryptids while enjoying house made meads, hard ciders, fruit wines, or local beers while for an afternoon of folklore, weirdness, and just the right amount of glowing-eyed intrigue.
